RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH
Ephesians 1:7
"In whom (Jesus Christ) we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His
grace."
FAITH ALONE
Ephesians 2:8,9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yoursolves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man
should boast."
HELL or HEAVEN???
If you had died yesterday, where would you be now? If
heaven, why? The bible says in Romans 3:23 that we are all sinners: for all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. This means that we have all
come short of God's standard of perfection, in thought, word or deed, we fall
short. In Romans 6:23 the bible says that penalty for sin is hell, eternal
separation from God: For the wages of sin is death. This means we deserve to
die and be separated from God forever.
Since there was no way we could come to God, the bible
says in Romans 5:8 that God loves us so much that He gave His Son to die for
our sins: But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.
So Chris took the penalty that we deserve for sin, placed
it upon Himself, and died in our place. Three days later Christ was resurrected
to prove that sin and death have been conquered and that His claims to be God
are true. Romans 10:9 tells you that you can be saved through faith in Christ:
that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in
your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved(complete
in Christ).
So there's nothing more important than your need to
believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Why not pray now and tell God you
trust His Son? Example prayer: Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I know my sin
deserves to be punished with eternal death. But I believe Christ died for me
and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Saviour. Thank you
for the forgiveness and everlasting life that I now have in the name of Jesus
Christ, amen.
